Many of our students, teachers, and school leaders are members of the Asian American community. Acts of hate against them, as well as against their families, friends, and neighbors, must stop.
As an education organization committed to helping all students achieve their full potential, we at Reading Plus have a responsibility to condemn the violence against the Asian American community and to help effect change. We will continue to provide content from diverse authors that reflects the experiences and cultures of all students. We will encourage and empower educators to use their voices to diminish hate and teach students to be empathetic, inclusive, and kind.
We also believe real, enduring change will happen. We will continue to stand in solidarity with the Asian American community and all communities who are marginalized or experience discrimination, violence, and acts of hate.
